University of Minnesota Track

Alliant laid out all construction staking on the University of ­Minnesota’s new track. NCAA standards are extremely high, creating tight tolerances on this ­project. The team prepared two ­as-builts, once before paving and once after to ­ensure accuracy.

While most projects allow 1/2” for error, NCAA’s maximum allowable error is 3/16”, making this one of ­Alliant’s most accurate projects. Alliant surveyors used the Trimble Robotic ­Total Station technology to ensure efficient and ­definite measurements.
