Alliant provided construction staking services for the University of Minnesota’s new track and field stadium.
The NCAA standards for competition level facilities are extremely high, requiring tight horizontal and vertical tolerances for this project. Alliant’s survey team prepared two as-builts, once to check tolerance before the paving and once after, to ensure the final track met the NCAA standards.
While most projects allow 1/2” for error, NCAA’s maximum allowable error is 3/16”, making this one of Alliant’s most accurate projects. Alliant surveyors used the Trimble Robotic Total Station technology to ensure efficient and definite measurements.
