Alliant laid out all construction staking on the University of Minnesota’s new track. NCAA standards are extremely high, creating tight tolerances on this project. The team prepared two as-builts, once before paving and once after to ensure accuracy.
While most projects allow 1/2” for error, NCAA’s maximum allowable error is 3/16”, making this one of Alliant’s most accurate projects. Alliant surveyors used the Trimble Robotic Total Station technology to ensure efficient and definite measurements.
