MN Highway 25 Corridor Study

MnDOT District 3 selected Alliant to conduct this corridor study on MN 25 between the communities of Buffalo and Monticello. Key partners included the two cities and Wright County. The two-lane roadway segment is becoming increasingly urbanized at both ends but is still rural in between. Traffic volumes are high but there are no plans to widen the road to four lanes. Intersection and multimodal safety are important issues. Alliant conducted traffic counts and analyzed existing and future traffic, safety, access management, and multimodal transportation issues and needs. Solutions focused on intersection and multimodal improvements.

Alliant also led public engagement using virtual open houses and interactive surveys using the MetroQuest platform. The project received over 2,000 online comments, which the team summarized and fed back into the technical analysis. The final report includes a detailed plan to support future implementation.
