Alliant supported the Metropolitan Council on the METRO G Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, an 11.5-mile arterial BRT line connecting Little Canada to West St. Paul.
After being selected through a competitive process for the initial traffic analysis and concept development phase, Alliant completed segment-specific traffic analysis to evaluate the impacts of proposed BRT improvements, including alternate station configurations, alternate intersection lane configurations, and transit signal priority. Our team developed segment-specific VISSIM models and conducted detailed operational analyses across key intersections and corridors, collaborating closely with Metro Transit and partner agencies. Alliant is leveraging our deep understanding of corridor operations and previous BRT experience to support station layout development, sightline and feasibility reviews, and conceptual design of the southern terminal station. In addition, Alliant is currently leading the communications and transit signal priority design for the entire G Line route. Communications to each BRT station are essential to provide real-time bus scheduling to the public, support fare collection system operations, and provide station security.
Our work is helping shape a more efficient, reliable, and accessible transit future along this critical north-south corridor.
