McCoy Creek Redevelopment

McCoy Creek is a 3.5-mile-long channel improvement and restoration project located just west of downtown Jacksonville, Florida.

Originally, the creek was straightened to accommodate neighborhood development, which led to frequent flooding, even during minor rain events. To address these issues and restore ecological balance, the City of Jacksonville committed $105.4 million to redevelop the area over a three-year period. Once complete, the area will feature a meandering natural creek alignment, native landscaping, neighborhood sidewalks and trails, new connections to the Emerald Trail, and green spaces that enhance both flood resilience and quality of life.

Alliant provided full-service professional surveying, supporting both pre- and post-construction efforts. Services included project management, data preparation, and comprehensive topographic surveys on a 50-foot grid, identifying all visible ground and utility features. Our team established benchmarks, coordinated the layout of site elements such as slopes and storm structures, and conducted as-built reviews with final signing and sealing. Thanks to our internal quality control and ability to mobilize quickly, Alliant helped keep the high-visibility waterway restoration project on schedule.
