The scope of the CSAH 86 bridge reconstruction project in Castle Rock included widening shoulders, removing the center pier that previously separated traffic, and increasing the vertical clearance to meet Minnesota standards.
During construction, train operations continued on a temporary shoofly track monitored wirelessly 24/7 by Alliant’s Survey crew. With guidance from our construction inspectors, the Lunda and E&J Rebar team set the sacrificial beams that will act as bumpers, protecting the bridge from tall loads. The upgraded bridge now offers safer travel and enhanced reliability for rail operations, marking a successful collaboration across project partners.
