Bob joined Alliant in 2000 as the Vice President of Transportation. He has over 25 years of transportation experience and he is a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE). Bob has managed hundreds of design projects and traffic operations studies, all with the goal of improving the safety and operations of our transportation system infrastructure.

Over the last decade, Bob’s primary focus has been managing Traffic Engineering and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) projects, as well as Alliant’s Transportation Group. He has served as the Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Manager on seven design-build projects and, in that role, he has developed innovative traffic management strategies that have both condensed construction schedules and minimized impacts to the traveling public. Bob has also managed numerous Advanced Traffic Management System design projects, including the installation and upgrade of fiber optic systems, traffic signals, dynamic message signs, detection systems, and cameras. Bob has served as the managing principal or project manager for numerous traffic operations studies, and he has developed creative methods for improving traffic flow on arterial corridors. Bob is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE, 2006 Midwestern District President) and the North Central Section of ITE (NCITE, 2004 President). Bob is also active in ITS Minnesota and he served on the Board in 2009. He also supports the Minnesota Surveyors and Engineers Society (MSES) and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota (ACEC/MN). Bob is a proud graduate of the University of Minnesota and STILL believes that this is the year the Gophers will return to the Rose Bowl!
