South Washington Street Corridor Study
Overview
The Park District, along with other wellness/fitness partners, is proposing to construct a community wellness center on the eastside of South Washington Street between the intersections of 40th Avenue South and 47th Avenue South. The change in land use from residential to commercial or destination center may necessitate additional improvements to the street, transit, pedestrian and bicycle network in the area.
A Corridor Study will be conducted to provide recommendations for the following:
- Existing and Future Street Design
- Access Control - Location and Type of Drive/Entrance
- Intersection Control - Traffic Signal, Stop Signs and Roundabouts
- Safety Improvements
- Trip Generation & Future Traffic Conditions
- Multimodal Improvement (Transit, Pedestrian and Bicycle)
