Having fun with our annual holiday greeting is an Alliant tradition.
In 2016 we played on the success of James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” and modified it to fit Alliant’s brand. Our version is “Carpool Lane Karaoke” and it ties in Alliant’s participation on the I-35E MnPASS project, as seen in the opening sequence. “We were able to spin the idea into a work that incorporates a major facet of our business into the concept,” said Shannon Burfeind, Marketing Coordinator. Along with footage of the MnPASS lanes, the Twin Cities Premium Outlets and areas of Minneapolis are also seen. These projects represent the wide range of professional services we provide.
We were able to spin the idea into a work that incorporates a major facet of our business into the concept.”
A unique example of that is watching elf, Nicole Wilson, hop through a crosswalk on University Avenue in Minneapolis. She recently completed an extensive American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) project in that corridor that enhanced accessibility for pedestrians.
On the land development side, Vice President Clark Wicklund wrote alternative lyrics to “Twelve Days of Christmas” that include “eight medians merging, seven sanitary sewers, and six rear yards draining”. The very last line in the sequence is “and Administrative plat approval”. “Those words are not easy to sing to the tune. That took some practice!” said Curt Wimpee of our Jacksonville, Florida office.
This video marks two Alliant firsts: This is the first year that we have done a digital delivery of our holiday card and it is the first year that we have used video to convey our greeting.
