Principal / Project Manager – Transportation

Steve is the only Principal at Alliant to work in both the Land Development and Transportation groups. He joined Alliant in 2006 to manage residential and commercial development projects, both locally and nationally. In 2008, he moved over to Transportation to manage public roadway, water resources, and utility improvement projects. Thus, Steve has a 21-year career across multiple disciplines that sets him up with a strong background for managing projects of all types, sizes, and complexities. Over the last several years, Steve has gone back to the foundation of his career and resumed managing local road and county highway projects.

Steve’s recent experience includes preliminary and final design, public involvement, and construction administration for public improvement projects for multiple City and County clients. In addition to these traditional design-bid-build delivery projects, he has also gained diverse experience serving as a water resources and utility design discipline lead on five MnDOT design-build projects, and as the Maintenance of Traffic Manager for the I-35E Cayuga Interchange and the I-90 Dresbach Interchange projects. Steve’s down to earth approach allows him to relate to everyone from project stakeholders that are unfamiliar with technical concepts to clients that require a high level of engineering expertise. He routinely manages complex operations and has the demonstrated ability to deliver quality down to the smallest detail. Outside of the office, Steve enjoys utilizing his leadership and mentoring skills to coach youth sports and help mold the next generation. He is active in both MSES and APWA.
