Principal / Project Manager – Traffic Engineering
Mike joined Alliant in 2005. He has over 17 years of transportation experience and is a Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE). With hundreds of traffic operations, safety, intersection control evaluations, and roadway preliminary design projects on his resume, he has the expertise necessary to carry projects from inception through construction administration. In addition to managing projects, Mike acts as Director of Traffic Engineering and ITS.
Mike is passionate about improving the of mobility for all transportation system users through a skilled use of traffic engineering principles. His work with local government, county agencies and DOTs has led to the development of many creative solutions for context sensitive and complicated projects. Most recently, Mike has specialized in arterial corridor operations and traffic signal timing and led over 65 signal optimization projects throughout the Midwest. He has also improved alternate modes of travel through his management of many pedestrian, bicycle, transit planning, operations and design projects. Mike has a strong drive to see our team rise to exceed client expectations. He is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the North Central Section of ITE (NCITE, 2014 President). He also supports the Minnesota Surveyors and Engineers Society (MSES) and the Transportation Research Board (TRB).
